Snow Bunny 2

December 17, 2014

Esther rolling in snow 1

This is our other snow bunny — deaf Esther. Ever since arriving back in late May, she’s always been a rolling dog, as one of the photos in that first post shows. (Who knows, maybe since she knew she was coming to the Rolling Dog Farm she figured this would help her fit in.) Esther throws herself down on various beds in the house and just rolls back and forth, with little grunts of delight as she flips from one side to the other. And now she takes her rolling dog act outside into the snow, as you can see here. She just loves diving into the snow, turning upside down, and rolling around on her back.

After thrusting her legs repeatedly into the air, she begins to position for a full body stretch:

Before rolling back to the center and starting all over again:

All of this is followed by a thorough shaking to get all the snow off before coming back into the house (thank you):

That’s so funny. She is certainly having a good time. She is such a happy dog. Plenty of friends, a big yard, warm beds to sleep on – what more could a dog want?

She is certainly dedicated to being a Rolling Dog. These pictures are so cute. I love the back legs sticking up in the air.
