Steve and Alayne with Wilbur for blog 1

Our friend Leslie P. came over recently to take our photo for the winter/holiday print newsletter — this is the shot that runs above the “farm letter” on page 2 — and I thought I’d share a few of the outtakes. First, the photo above is not an outtake … that’s the one we’re going to use, and it was No. 73 in the series. As you can see, Wilbur was our “dog model” for this issue’s photo.

After I load the photos in the computer after each of these sessions, I’m always amused and a bit mystified by some of the shots — I’m thinking, “what were we doing in that one?” For instance:

Why would I be staring at my shoes??Who knows? Certainly not me.

And then there was this one:

Why was I waving my hand in front of Wilbur’s face? I think I was trying to get him to turn his head back towards the camera, but I’m not sure. But in any case, two seconds later, we tried to regroup:

Please note Ms. Marker giving it her all, with?Wilbur?giving?his best Yoda impression.

After changing positions and darting in and out of shadows and sunlight,?we finally got the right photo. Both Wilbur and Leslie were mightily relieved.

Love that Wilbur! I bet Alayne was glad he doesn’t weigh more. Funny how little doggies like that are so fun to carry around with you.

Please get that little Wilbur an eye patch for Halloween, so he can be Yoda the Pirate for the Tricker-Treaters! You guys are a hoot.

Great photos! Not so many outtakes as usual. Wibur must have been relatively cooperative. In photo #3, you’re obviously tryiing to protect him from the paparazzi.

Thank you Steve. This post and the photos gave me a big belly laugh. You really crack me up with your outtake series, especially the huge number of shots that always occur, And Alayne as always maintains her pretty smile!!

I second what Felicia said…..Alayne always looks good…..I would love to know her secret to being so photogenic. As for Mr. Wilber…..I prefer his Yoda photo but I think the autumnal background in the first shot is the best. Such a gorgeous time of year in New England.

It’s amazing to me how itty-bitty Wilbur really is – when he is featured on the blog, he always looks much larger! Must be that big personality of his. 🙂

You two just radiate–that is happen when you have given so unselfishly for decades and are doing what you are “called” to do. Love the pictures–all of them. Wilbur–such a darling one! The background was breathtaking!

The one where you’re looking down cracks me up for some reason. Wilbur is such a cutie!
