I’ve Got Something To Say

August 4, 2014

I took’this quick?iPhone?video on Friday morning. This is what Aurora does most mornings as soon as I let her out of her crate — she runs across the room to the top of the stairs, turns to face me, barks quite insistently, and then disappears in an instant down the stairs. The whole thing takes only a few seconds from dashing out of her?crate to disappearing down the stairs, but she’s got plenty to say … whatever it is.

That’s deaf Esther you see in the other crate. Although she can be bossy?as well, she’s generally more patient than Aurora in the morning. I carry her down the stairs, because she doesn’t do as well as Aurora dealing with them. Aurora is one of those “get out of my way!” girls, even with very limited vision left in her one eye.

I took the video?in what we call Widget’s Room, on the second floor of the dog wing above the main dog room. This is where the barky ladies go at night — the ones who like to party until the wee hours and then sleep it off during the day. There are four doors between Widget’s Room and our bedroom, which is the only way we can get any sleep ourselves!

So here’s the clip below, and for people getting this blog post via email who may not see it here, the direct link is:?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A5E8qvS-L0. This?happens so fast you may want to replay it a couple of times:

Funny – my dogs really reacted to hearing this video clip too. I think it must be a rallying cry for all dogs to begin the day with a couple of lively barks. My 3 came running from various places in the house to join in the party when they heard it – and it wasn’t even playing very loud.

Clearly she’s giving her breakfast order. That’s three eggs scrambled, toast, and a double portion of bacon. And make it snappy!
