Itty Bitty and Big

Stella and Wilbur

Alayne took this photo a couple of weeks ago so it’s not a new one — Wilbur’s corneal ulcer?has since healed and our ophthalmologist said the cone could come off, so he’s a different boy these days. But I’d forgotten we had this shot, and I thought it was so cute of these two sleeping side by side like that. Little Wilbur, all of 8 pounds, and big blind Stella at?80 pounds. Her head alone must weigh more than Wilbur’s entire body!

Yes, we went through the cranky Wilbur stage when that cone first went on, but now he’s happy to be cone-free again. No more whining, so he’s back to spending the night in the living room. Here’s a shot Alayne took last night about 10 p.m., before we put him up in his “boat” (because he pees overnight, that’s why!):

Wilbur on bed

I’m sure he was thinking, “Oooh, this is nice, I don’t have to share it with an 80 lb dog!”

That is so cute. You can see how gray both of them are in this photo – but certainly very happy. I’m glad Wilburs’ eye is now OK. I would imagine wearing a cone isn’t comfortable at all.

Sorry Wilbur, cones are annoying but important! He’s such a love, he’s one of my favorites 🙂

I love Wilbur’s floppy little face in this photo. I’m sure all of RDF is glad to have Wilbur cone free.
Great shot of these two side by side!
