It’s All About Me

Stella and Bugsy on ramp 1

The other evening Alayne looked outside the front screen door and saw that scene of?blind Stella and blind Bugsy facing each other during a nap. She picked up the camera, took a few shots, then stopped to adjust the lens and widen the angle. When she looked through the viewfinder again, someone had suddenly materialized in the frame:

Stella and Bugsy on ramp 2

Yes, Mr. It’s-All-About-Me, otherwise known as Tanner. He believes he has a God-given right to be the center of attention, now and forever more, no matter what the circumstances. He is particularly fond of elbowing his way in when I am making over Darla, which drives her crazy (he knows this). If I am petting her, he pushes right in and noses me, determined to share the affection. They are both jealous (Tanner’s a Daddy’s boy, too) and so they can be very competitive about this. He is one very affectionate boy who loves to kiss. Even in the middle of roughhousing with me (more on this in a later post someday), he will stop to reach up with his face and give me a kiss.

Anyway, this popping up in the middle of the frame was classic Tanner. “If someone’s going to have their picture taken, it might as well be me!”

Well, when you’ve got a photographically handsome face, it’s difficult to be humble.

I always enjoy reading your blogs Steve! It warms my heart to know how loved each and every animal is at Rolling Dog…and the fact that you know each animals personality so well shows how much you pay attention to each and every member of your “family”.

Thank you for all you and Alayne do!!!

And apparently he woke little Wilbur up in the process. Poor little guy can’t even get a nap in the sun without someone waking him up. Tanner, you’re a funny guy.

Tanner has been a favorite since he arrived not all that long ago. He is so special, and of course deserves to be in the foreground!!
