Going For A Swim

September 24, 2014

Stoney swimming

Wendy M. in northern Virginia, who adopted a pair of disabled dogs from us back in Montana in 2008, has been wonderful about sending us periodic updates in the intervening years. One of the dogs she adopted, a Lab named Stoney, blind then and?blind and deaf now, has always loved water. Wendy recently sent us a brief video of Stoney going for a swim in a nearby swimming pool. She wrote, “After Labor Day, most of the local pools close down to people, but they usually have one last day for dogs before the pools get drained.” So off to the pool they went! That’s Wendy’s boyfriend Scott in the pool with Stoney:

Baron, her other RDF dog, doesn’t like water and stayed home for an afternoon siesta.

Awesome! Too bad there aren’t more days they can use the pool 🙁 But I say the boyfriend is a keeper – he obviously has an attachment for Stoney, and vice-versa 🙂

Stoney is such a sweetheart. We fell in love with her but agreed she found the perfect home with Wendy! We remember her playing with the hose when we were trying to clean the dog crates at Widget’s House.

Stoney and Baron hit the jackpot in their new home. You can tell that Stoney is really enjoying himself. Thanks for the update!

What a terrific video. You can tell Stoney really was having fun. I think she would stay and swim as long as you would let her. And I certainly remember Baron. He’s a sweetheart. I’m so glad they are still happy and growing old together. They have wonderful lives.

I LOVE seeing updated on RDR adoptions.
I remember when she adopted Stoney and Baron, it’s heart warming
to know they are being so well taken care of and they are all three
still together. Keep the updates coming Wendy (and other RDR adopters)
