Pond with fall colors in Sept

I thought I’d put up a quick photo post for today … the fall colors around the pond are reaching that stunning level. I took that shot on Wednesday afternoon on what was clearly a gorgeous autumn day. However, it’s so foggy out right now at 10 a.m. this morning I can barely see the trees out of my office window, let alone any fall colors!

Ah, a beautiful day in New England! Thanks for sending the lovely picture.
I grew up in northeastern Ohio, where we usually had lovely, colorful falls. I had never been as far east as New England. My husband, one of his brothers, our two dogs (both on leashes) and I went to New England to hike on the trails that took us through the Appalachian Trail Hut system. We drove into Bennington, VT at almost dusk the first evening and went to a restaurant to have dinner. I went to buy postcards from the restaurant’s display but decided that the colors were inaccurate–too gaudy. So I did not buy any. What a surprise the next morning, to find the colors on the postcards were NOT too gaudy to me, someone who was used to delightful colors in Ohio and Indiana.
As one might suspect, all of us thoroughly enjoyed our 9-day hike. The weather was spectacular: sunny and a very comfortable temperature for hiking. We did encounter two thunderstorms, one in a late evening in one hut, and the other in amid-morning. The storms added another dimension to our hike. The second one was scary because we left Lake-of-the-Clouds hut and were still above tree-line, on the east side of Mt. Washington, when the storm struck. Let me assure one and all, we were really picking ’em up and laying ’em down until we got into the forest once more.

Since you hardly EVER leave your property except to take an animal to the vet we are glad you are surrounded by beauty!

Very pretty! I hope to see that around here in about a month. Have you ever considered doing a Rolling Dog Farm calendar? I’d buy one!

A very beautiful photo indeed! Fall is a hard season to beat.
I agree with Tonya about the calendar idea, I would buy one too.
