Darla with maid service 1

A couple of years ago, after reading our blog post about how Darla had broken all the rules and even ended up with her own room, one of our supporters sent us that maid service sign you see hanging on the doorknob in the photo. The sign?was, how shall we put this … all too appropriate. And it’s been hanging on the door to Darla’s room ever since. It captures her expectations of our role in serving her every need, and it reminds us of what Darla’thinks we (well, actually, me) should be focused on at all times. Which is her.

Now, I think she was none too pleased when I took these photos over the weekend because her bed was missing the usual?comforter on top and the extra blanket at the foot. I suspect that’s what this look was about:

Of course, we immediately alerted the housekeeping staff to the deficiencies.

Here are a couple of bonus photos … I took these on Saturday, at the start of the day and the end of the day. At 8:30 a.m.:

And about 6:30 p.m.:

I suspect we’re getting our last shot of summer today … sunny and a high of 73?. By the weekend our highs will be in the 40s. One last day to work on the woodpile!

As you peons should know, you don’t mess with the bed! One of my dogs gets quite upset when I change his bedding. He tries to sit on as much of it as possible to try to keep me from taking it. Doesn’t matter that he gets new bedding immediately, it’s Just Not The Same.

    Ah, beautiful leaves!

Is any other dog ever allowed on Darla’s bed? ( I assume she would be happy with her people being on her bed .)

40 deg! Housekeeping needs to get Darla’s comforter back on the bed!
The photos are gorgeous! The colors are amazing.
