Aurora and Widget on bed

I took this photo yesterday evening after getting home from Peak Veterinary in Burlington with Widget and Aurora. Both girls were in for follow-up tests — Widget to assess her blood work for her chemotherapy, and Aurora to assess her kidney function and clotting profiles. Neither one had any procedures done, and yet they immediately conked out when we got home … and stayed that way until we put them up for the night. You’d think they had just run the Boston Marathon the day before.

Widget’s blood work looked pretty good overall, and the good news is that she is back in “partial remission” with this latest chemo cocktail. We’d like to see full remission, but partial may be as good as it gets now. She continues to tolerate the chemo very well.

Aurora no longer exhibits any pain from the clot in her leg, and the femoral pulse in the leg is getting stronger with each passing week. We’ve taken her off the main pain medication. Our internal medicine specialist at Peak continues to adjust Aurora’s?clotting medications to get the optimum response, which is why we need these weekly’tests to see what the latest dosage adjustment is doing for her.

So today is catch-up day in the office for me. As for the girls, last time I checked this morning, they were asleep again downstairs in the living room.

Great to hear the two girls are holding their own! It took me a day or two to find the new webpage and blog – looks very nice!

Your new website looks very nice but may take a little getting used to in order to find my way around the blogs. I’m glad you are back up and running. Am also glad to hear that Aurora and Widget are doing well, and especially that the new medications are helping Widget. The photo with Allie is so nice. She’s a big lovable girl. Hope you get to enjoy the weekend.

Glad for both positive reports. You are right partial remission beats the heck out of no remission for our Widget.

Poor little babies. They are just exhausted! Tuck them in with blankies and let them snooze. Rub their backs and spoil them with a doggy treat when they wake up! Thinking good thoughts for the furry kids!

Glad your blog is up and running. Tried accessing it the last couple of days… and got worried about you guys!!!! Take care. And thanks for all that you do for these sweet furry little guys and gals.

It’s funny how a little trip to the vet can tire out the puppies. Glad that Widget seems to be responding, and that Aurora is improving too. I like the new site!

Glad to hear some good news about Widget and Aurora! Hopefully, the good news will keep on coming 🙂

I also got worried about what was going on when I couldn’t access the blog. Glad to see it up and running in the new format. We’ll all get used to it soon 🙂
